There are many modifications of the legendary Shadow of Chernobyl, but one modder seems to have surpassed all the efforts of other enthusiasts in this matter.

The RedPanda user was able to transfer the game to the Unreal Engine 5 engine, and you can already play the shooter fully without any “buts”. Of course, there was no tangible increase in the quality of graphics, but the transition from X-Ray to the universal UE5 can give impetus to the work of other creators of mods for the post-apocalyptic action. On the other hand, the possibilities of X-Ray have been explored far and wide, and the transition to Unreal may not be so simple.

The presented game does not function perfectly, but it makes it possible to complete the story campaign. The most common problems here are crashes, the lack of changes in weather presets and a number of visual effects, and excessive system requirements. In the future, the creator will gradually solve these problems. You can download the working build here.
