TW Electronics, a manufacturer of devices for smart TVs and multimedia players with Google TV, has announced a line of remote controls for this technology. The uniqueness of the devices will be that they will not have batteries or chargers.
The new generation consoles will have a built-in battery and an Exeger photocell. With the help of a small solar panel, the device will be recharged. The manufacturer claims that normal room lighting is enough to charge the remote control.
Prior to this, similar remote controls were announced by Samsung and Amazon. It is not yet clear who will be the first to equip their Google TV equipment with a product from TW Electronics.
