A visual test conducted by NVIDIA showed that the new GPU is three times superior to the RTX 3080 Ti in terms of power consumption.
To compare the two video cards, laptops with frame rate and power consumption counters were used. The test was conducted in the game Cyberpunk 2077. In the same scenes, a laptop with an RTX 4080 showed 77 fps and 51.6 watts of power consumption. A laptop with 3080 Ti at similar graphics settings produced 64 fps and 146.4 watts.
This difference, according to NVIDIA, was achieved due to the transition of new video cards to the 5-nanometer Ada Lovelace architecture. Full-fledged comparisons of the RTX 4080 with other mobile discrete graphics cards will definitely appear on the network in large numbers after the release of laptops with this video card, which should take place on February 8th.
