LG introduced a new concept of "lightweight" technology with the ability to upgrade
The South Korean company will produce consumer electronics in accordance with the motto "Less is more." The new line will include washing machines, stoves with ovens, dryers, refrigerators and other household appliances.

According to the new concept, future LG appliances will receive a lightweight interface through which the user interacts with the device. This design eliminates the use of bulky decorative elements and "overloaded" control panels. The main task of such an interface will be to facilitate the interaction between the user and technology. In addition, the concept includes the possibility of upgrading the software and hardware platform.

According to Liu Zhe-chul, head of LG Electronics' Home Appliances division, the upgrade option will challenge the principle that home appliances are built with planned obsolescence in mind. LG wants to make sure that the owner gets a sense of interaction with new technology both after purchase and throughout the life cycle of the device.

Details about the updated design and ways to upgrade equipment are not yet available. LG will share all the information on this concept at the CES 2023 event, which starts on January 5th.
