Google again criticized the messenger from Apple
Google again walked through the proprietary messenger of the apple company. This time, the search giant claimed that the competitor's service was outdated and stuck in the 90s. Thus, Google wants to push Tim Cook's company to switch to the current SMS standard.

Google again criticized the messenger from Apple

A post with critical content was published on the official Google blog. The text itself is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the first SMS sent. In the post, Google explains the benefits of using the RCS (Rich Communication Services) short message protocol. In particular, the company mentions the use of end-to-end encryption, which guarantees increased security, as well as the ability to send photos and videos, display delivery and read messages, group chats, reactions, and other modern functionality.

Part of companies supporting the RCS standard

The Google statement also says that all major mobile operators and manufacturers have long since switched to the RCS standard, only Apple remains faithful to the SMS standard. And when iPhone users send messages to Android users, it means that their messages are stuck in the 90s.

Google still hopes that Apple will move to the RCS standard over time, so that users of both platforms can comfortably exchange messages using an up-to-date and secure standard. In turn, Apple has its own iMessage messenger for messaging between its devices. And for communication between Android and iOS, there are cross-platform messengers (Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp, etc.). Therefore, it is not a fact that the Cupertinites will heed anyone's advice.
