A French enthusiast has launched Mac OS 9.2 on the Nintendo Wii. And then played on it in DOOM
Developer Pierre Dandumont decided to run the operating system on the set-top box due to the similarity of the PowerPC G3 set-top box processor to the chip from the 1998 iMac G3. At the end of the OS installation, the Frenchman wanted to test the gaming capabilities of the console and turned on the classic DOOM on it.

Dandumont did not install Mac OS directly, but used the MOL (Mac-on-Linux) utility. Before that, he already had experience installing MOL on a similar hardware platform, so it did not take much effort and time for him to set up the environment for the Nintendo console. As Dandumont himself said, the installation was easy. After the preparations, he only had to create a disk image of Mac OS 9.2 and load the operating system.

The system was launched successfully, but during the operation the OS gave errors, so I had to adjust the sound and rendering of fonts. As a result of all the manipulations, the system began to work more stable, and the Frenchman even managed to launch DOOM on it. Unfortunately, it was not possible to play comfortably due to the small amount of RAM, the wrong chip and poor optimization.
