Experts from DxOMark tested the cameras of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The results are good, but not the most outstanding
Experts from a well-known laboratory tested the photo and video capabilities of the older model of the smartphone line from the Cupertino brand. As expected, the camera showed good results, but did not reach the first place in the rating.

iPhone 14 Pro Max received a triple camera module. The main lens has a resolution of 48 MP, the wide-angle sensor has received 12 MP, and the telephoto lens has the same 12 MP. In addition, the smartphone's camera has Dual Pixel AF autofocus, sensor-shift stabilization, support for HDR video shooting and a LiDAR sensor for more accurate focusing.

Experts note that the quality of pictures and videos in the vast majority of cases is comparable to photos and videos taken on a standard iPhone 14 Pro. This is not surprising since both devices have the same A16 Bionic processor and identical cameras. As a result, both devices received the same scores after two dozen tests.

The positive characteristics of the camera, the researchers attributed the high level of brightness, wide dynamic range, coupled with excellent contrast and image detail both indoors and outdoors. They also highlighted accurate autofocus, bokeh mode with highly detailed faces, high-quality zoom at close and medium distances, and image stabilization.

There are also disadvantages. First of all, testers note the appearance of halos around objects in a number of cases. In mixed lighting, they observed an inaccurate white balance, and when shooting outdoors, frame flashes slipped.

As a result, the iPhone 14 Pro Max scored 146 points in the DxOMark ranking and took the third place in the top, behind only the Honor Magic4 Ultimate and the recently released Google Pixel 7 Pro. It is curious that the device is inferior to competitors by only one point. In its price category under $800, the flagship device also ranks third in the ranking.
