The Raptor Lake chips have received increased performance. The process technology did not become "thinner".

Traditionally, the first presented processors were overclocked chips with the prefix K. You can get acquainted with their technical specifications using the table below. Standard versions of processors will be released later. The entire line is developed according to the Intel 7 process technology (Enchaced Superfin 10 nm).

Intel claims that the new series of processors outperform the previous generation models by 15% in single-threaded scenario and 41% in multi-threaded mode. Computing power has increased due to the increase in clock frequency and the increase in the number of energy-efficient cores. Also, the developers have increased the amount of "game" cache memory of the 3rd level.

The new line has support for DDR5-5600 RAM, but the chips also remain backward compatible with DDR4 RAM. In addition, the processors have their own PCle 5.0 lines in the amount of up to 16 pieces. The base frequencies of the new models have slightly decreased compared to last year's solutions, but the maximum frequencies have increased up to 5.8 GHz for the flagships.

Interestingly, Intel did not compare its own new products with similar new processors from AMD in gaming performance tests. So, for comparison, the Core i9-13900K and Ryzen 9 5950X were taken. As a result of testing, the Intel processor showed a significant superiority over its competitor in every game launched. The maximum advantage reached 107%.

It will be possible to purchase chips of the new line from October 20. The cost of new products will remain at the level of last year's models.
