New Intel processors will get ray tracing

A report published on the Coelacanth-Dream website talks about the addition of ray tracing technology to the integrated graphics core of Meteor Lake chips based on the Xe-HPG architecture. Ray tracing will be responsible for 196 blocks in the most advanced configuration and an additional artificial intelligence module Versatile Processing Unit.

According to rumors, the new Intel processors will be the first for the CPU manufacturer, developed on the basis of the 7-nanometer process technology. Chip performance should increase by 20% compared to previous models. Switching to processors will require replacing the motherboard with an LGA 1851 processor socket. The timing of the presentation and release of the chips is still unknown.
