The Cortex-X3 and Cortex-A715 cores will be part of Qualcomm and Samsung's upcoming flagship mobile platforms.

New ARM cores will appear in future flagships

The cores are based on the ARMv9 architecture. Cortex-X3 is built on the basis of a 3-nanometer process technology, its maximum clock frequency is 3.3 GHz. It is expected that this core will become 22% more productive than Cortex-X2, and the IPC parameter (the number of instructions executed per clock) will increase by 11%. Also, according to the vendor, the Cortex-X3 will outperform its competitor in the form of an Intel Core i7 1260p chipset with a TDP limit of 28W.

As for the 64-bit Cortex-A715 core, it will be more energy efficient than its predecessor in the face of the Cortex-A710, and the increase in computing power will be 5%. Both new items will be part of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which should be presented before the end of this year.

Qualcomm also presented an update to last year's Cortex-A510 core. The new version differs from the old one in reduced power consumption and the presence of support for 32-bit instructions.
