DDR5 memory overclocked to record levels
MSI's in-house overclockers were able to overclock the new generation of RAM to record-breaking frequency and data transfer rates. As a result, the factory values were exceeded twice.

DDR5 memory overclocked to record levels

For tests, a platform with an MSI UNIFY-X board and an Intel Core i9-12900 KS chip was used. After some improvements, the 16 GB Kingston Fury Beast memory module in a single-threaded configuration was brought up to 10004 MT/s at a frequency of 5001.8 MHz. It should be noted that in practice such overclocking is still impractical, since large signal delays were recorded.

Manufacturers of computer components are already planning to release RAM with speeds up to 12 GT/s. It is assumed that such memory strips will become available after the wide distribution of the Intel Raptor Lake and AMD Raphael processor lines. These devices will be expensive, since already now the cost of DDR5 is about twice as high as that of DDR4.
