Google will block third-party call recording apps
The company intends to ban all third-party programs that allow you to record calls within a few weeks. Previously, the creators of such software, despite the prohibitions from Google, still had the opportunity to develop such programs.

Google will block third-party call recording apps

Disabling the API, which makes it possible to record telephone conversations, began with Android 6.0. In this regard, developers began to look for roundabout ways, many of which were also blocked in the ninth and tenth versions of the OS. Then the creators of the software resorted to the Accessibility API service. Now Google intends to impose a block on this service. Lockdowns will start on May 11th.

It is noted that this initiative will not affect the software implemented by manufacturers in their shells. So, a call recording is available in the calls application in devices from Google, Xiaomi, OPPO and some other brands. However, if there is no application in the smartphone initially or its use is impossible due to regional peculiarities, then from May 11, users will not be able to record calls through third-party applications.

How the Accessibility API will be blocked, Google does not report. It is also unclear whether call recording programs already available on the app marketplace will be removed.
