Bloggers from Russia lost 80% of their income
Russian bloggers have lost up to 80% of their income due to blocking of social networks, the outflow of advertisers and audience, business stoppages and marketing activities of foreign companies in the Russian Federation.

Industry experts say that the vast majority of bloggers have lost at least half of their monthly earnings on all social networks. According to Brand Analytics, between February 24 and April 6, more than half of Russian content authors left Instagram (a product of Meta, a recognized extremist organization in the Russian Federation), even despite the fact that for the most part the audience uses the social network through a VPN. In addition, Facebook (a product of Meta, a recognized extremist organization in the Russian Federation) lost 21% of users from the Russian Federation.

After the blocking, bloggers asked their subscribers to actively subscribe to pages on VK and Telegram channels. According to experts, the audience most loyal to content makers, that is, no more than 7% of the total volume of users, moved to these sites.

According to experts, what part of the audience follows bloggers to other sites will show the social capital of influencers. Really popular and recognized content makers should not experience any special difficulties in this matter, while “bloggers” with huge subscriptions will be especially affected by the transition problem.

Another stumbling block is the fact that not all users want to switch to third-party sites and install new programs. Also, bloggers cannot always use the usual functionality, resulting in the loss of subscribers. At the same time, domestic services report an influx of new users: +64 per month on RuTube and +432% on Boosty, the copyright content monetization platform.

Together with bloggers, many individual entrepreneurs who were engaged in sewing to order, baking and small-scale production of other products with their subsequent sale through blocked sites suffered from blocking social networks. However, it is not known for certain how much they suffered financial losses.
