Qualcomm partners with Trimble to bring GNSS technology to premium devices. With this solution, owners of smartphones based on top Snapdragon chipsets will receive 5 times more accurate geolocation of the device.
RTX GNSS can be used on devices with Snapdragon 888 and 8 Gen 1 in the 2nd quarter of this year. With the help of it, the accuracy and quality of determining the position with pickup at the lane level will be improved. Creators of specialized software and applications will have access to technology to improve the user experience with regards to navigation.
Brand collaboration will extend to auto OEMs and their component suppliers. They will be able to use geopositioning with an accuracy of up to a meter when creating driver support technologies and systems for autonomous movement. The list of services that will primarily provide device owners with updated functionality is not yet known.
