The creator of the channel on YouTube Max Tech showed in detail the internal structure of a fresh Apple Mac Studio desktop with an M1 Ultra processor. It became clear that the future owners of the device are waiting for several surprises, including the ability to improve the computer with their own hands.

In order to get the processor, the user needed to dismantle the service cover from the bottom of the desktop and the power supply unit without a protective cover. During disassembly, it became clear that the motherboard has a free M.2 slot, where you can install an additional drive and thereby increase the amount of disk space.

Almost 2/3 of the thickness of the PC case is occupied by a large heat dissipation system with a pair of fans connected to the motherboard. The board itself is quite small, most of it is reserved for the M1 Ultra chipset, which has a heat-spreading plate. The chip is almost 4 times larger than the desktop AMD Ryzen, its dimensions are due to the location of the memory chips directly next to the CPU.

Although the processor has impressive dimensions, contact with the cooler occurs through a small strip along the central area of the SoC, where the crystals of the professor and the GPU are located. The video also indicates that the drive can also be upgraded, since it was not soldered on the board, as in many other products of the company, but was made in a classic form with a PCI-Express standard port.

The Apple Mac Studio is available for $1,999 for a 32GB RAM, 512GB version.
