Samsung Pay was checked according to 4 parameters: the reliability of sending data from a mobile device to a banking organization and vice versa, compliance with secure programming standards, the degree of data protection on the device itself, and protection from cyber attacks from third parties.

The security of encryption algorithms and protocols, the ability to transfer private data in encrypted form, data transfer in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ability to provide protection against so-called man-in-the-middle attacks (MITM) were subjected to thorough checks. In addition, the experts checked the software settings options, the degree of information safety in the application and in the device storage.

In all tests, the client performed very well. It was noted that the application does not ask for unnecessary permissions, and it is also impossible to put it on a device with root rights. As a result, the Samsung Pay program was rated 450/500.

Gerrit Povel, Vice President of Direct to Consumer at Samsung Electronics in Germany, was also pleased with the test results. He noted that Samsung takes its payment system seriously and prioritizes the security of its use for users.
