Possible OS name for Apple's upcoming mixed reality headset revealed
The OS name for Apple's unannounced mixed reality headset is circulating online. According to rumors, the system will be called RealityOS.

The mixed reality headset itself (AR/VR or simply XR) from Apple has not received an announcement date. Moreover, the company has not officially announced its development, but they say that the creation process is still underway. Perhaps the device will be released in 2023.

The mention of RealityOS has surfaced in GitHub repositories and AppStore download logs. Previously, a very similar name rOS was mentioned in the publications of Bloomberg in 2017, and this year it flashed under the designation Oak. In test versions of iOS 13, according to 9to5Mac, there is also the name RealityOS.

According to known data, the device will receive its own market for AR and VR applications. It is also possible that a RealityOS simulator will appear for creating and testing software.

Earlier in the "beta" iOS 15.4 found a hint of support for mixed reality glasses and push notifications in web applications.

It is assumed that the helmet from the "apple" brand will be equipped with a dozen video cameras, folding lenses, four blocks of three-dimensional sensors, three displays, a powerful chipset with the power of M1 Pro, an integrated cooling system and a fabric case. The approximate cost of points is $3000.
