Xiaomi passed an independent audit of the user data protection and security management system
Not so long ago, Xiaomi got involved in several major scandals, which in one way or another were connected with suspicions regarding the security of user data. To remove suspicions and accusations from the public, the brand ordered an independent audit from TRUSTe, a division of TrustArc.

During the examination, data protection systems and security management were checked. In particular, we found out how well the processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) of the European Union. As a result, TRUSTe experts confirmed that Xiaomi has successfully passed the examination and satisfies all the requirements of the regulators. Curiously, Xiaomi was the first company from China to successfully pass this procedure. Going forward, the Chinese brand intends to work even more with third-party regulatory organizations to ensure the protection of user data.

TrustArc is a US-based company that is a leading privacy and risk management organization.
