New vulnerability found in iOS, facilitating identity theft
Cybersecurity experts at ZecOps have found a major new issue in the iOS operating system. The developers have created a technique for hacking smartphones using the NoReboot virus program.

The NoReboot virus allows you to steal the personal data of the owner of the device. This program is disguised as a reboot of the SpringBoard shell, while the user will see the boot icon on the display. The smartphone itself cannot respond to screen touches, button presses and other actions. Such disguise can provide intruders with access to user data, camera and microphone, without the owner even knowing that he is being hacked.

According to the ZecOps developers, even after a manual restart of the device, the virus will continue to work, as it uses the background processes backboardd, InCallSrvice and SpringBoard, which are responsible for this operation. Eliminating malware can only be done by hard rebooting on the latest iPhones using the volume rocker and power key.

It is assumed that the vulnerability can work with any version of iOS, but no effective countermeasures have yet been found. Apple has not yet commented on the situation.
