Tools for downloading HD video content from popular streaming sites have appeared on the GitHub resource. In particular, there are file repositories for streaming such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Disney+, HBO Max, etc. A user with the nickname Widevinedump, who registered on the portal a week ago, uploaded the tools.

In addition to tools for downloading HD-videos, Widevinedump offers to purchase a CDM decryption module from it for a fee. With this module, you can download videos in 4K format. All code is written in the Python programming language.

The vast majority of streaming content is protected by Widevine DRM, a technology created by Google. It offers three levels of protection depending on the resolution and video quality. The code from Widevinedump will work around them all.

TorrentFreak's sources confirm the functionality of the scripts. However, users who have tried them may well be banned by streaming, since the tools are not developed on the current version of Widevine. What's more, the widespread availability of scripts could force streaming sites to switch to new safeguards.
