Google unveils Android 12L with improvements for large displays
Google has revealed Android 12L with improvements for tablets, folding smartphones and devices with Chrome OS on board. The announcement took place at the Android Dev Summit event.

The main innovation of the system is an interface optimized for large screens. It is noted that the company plans to ensure the transition to the main sections of the menu and notifications on the display simultaneously on both parts of the device. It is also planned to launch a new application without minimizing the already running one.

Android 12L will get an updated taskbar with a modernized order of transition from one program to another. When you move the application, it will expand to half of the display, regardless of whether it is supposed to change the default screen resolution. A new e-mail application will also be added to the system. Device owners will be able to change the shape, size and color of the application, add rounded corners and customize the position of the built-in window.

The release of Android 12L is scheduled for early 2022, but Google has already opened access to a specialized emulator for application creators, showing the main features of the system. The company is also working closely with other companies to improve the OS, in particular, in the foreseeable future, the first build of firmware for the Lenovo P12 Pro tablet computer will become available. In addition, Google has launched the Android 12L Developer Preview. The release of the first public "beta" is likely to take place in December.

In January, Google plans to release the second beta version, API and the official SDK, and Beta 3 will be released in February. It is curious that Android 12L owners will be able to try out fourth-generation Pixel smartphones and above.
