The largest hacker attack in the history of the Russian-speaking segment of the Internet has been carried out on Yandex. The information about the record scale of the attack was confirmed by Cloudflare, a firm dedicated to providing protection against such threats.
According to a representative of a domestic IT company, the attack was neutralized, in which the network infrastructure and the system for filtering out unwanted requests were involved. Hackers potentially threatened infrastructure on a national scale. Nevertheless, the attack did not affect the functioning of the servers, and the personal information of the users was not affected. An internal investigation of the incident is underway.
According to the information provided by Statista service specialists, last year companies from the entertainment sector were most exposed to hacker attacks in the Russian Federation - they accounted for about 41% of cases. Telecommunications organizations (29.27%), online stores (11.94%), companies from the construction (6%), finance (4.56%), education (3.61%), service service (2.68%).
