LG tests 6G data transfer successfully
LG reported positive results in its own study of the sixth generation of 6G mobile communications. According to representatives of the South Korean IT giant, they were able to test the technology of data distribution in the 6G network using the terahertz spectrum. The work was carried out in collaboration with the German organization for applied research Fraunhoffer-Gesellschaft.

The technology was successfully tested in Germany. In the process, LG was able to transmit over a distance of 100 m in an open space. In addition, the developers, together with German colleagues, have created a power amplifier that provides 6G stability in the terahertz spectrum. According to LG, this device is capable of delivering a 15 dBm signal limit at the output to establish communication stability in the 155-175 GHz range.

At the same time, the Korean company has developed a method for highly adaptive organization of the directional diagram and antenna switching with increased gain. Such developments will help to stimulate further work for the development of technology.

Research activities in the field of wireless technologies have been going on for a long time. Success in this direction was previously announced by Huawei. Full implementation of 6G is planned by 2029, and negotiations on standardization will start in 2025.
