Tinder will soon receive the function of verifying accounts by identity documents
The Tinder dating app developers have announced the imminent introduction of a new ID Verification feature. With its help, it will be possible to confirm that the account belongs to a real user.

This verification technology has been tested in Japan for more than two years, and now it is completely ready for use. To confirm the identity, the user will be able to provide a passport or driver's license.

Tinder notes that the function will initially work on a voluntary basis, but the developers do not exclude its transition to the category of mandatory for users. In those regions where such verification is legally provided, the option will become mandatory immediately.

The campaign's message says that the advent of verification will provide an opportunity to increase security, namely, it will give more confidence in the reliability of matches. It is also noted that users will be able to appreciate the innovation and see tangible benefits from communicating with people who have passed the verification procedure.

At the same time, Tinder says it will ensure the safety of storing confidential data, however, there is no information on how the company will manage the sent documents.
