Dragonfly probe to go to Titan in the next decade
The Dragonfly project team has decided on the goals and objectives of the mission to study Titan. The lander of the same name will go to the moon of Saturn to search for traces of life.

The main goal set by scientists is to find chemical biosignatures. The presence of an Earth-like atmosphere and water on the surface makes the satellite similar to the Earth, but research does not provide comprehensive data on the weather and other aspects of the object. Nevertheless, there is a probability of detecting living organisms on it.

A large amount of information about Titan was obtained using the Cassini probe, which has been cruising in orbit of Saturn for 13 years. Thus, studies have shown the presence of dunes, lakes and mountain ranges on the satellite. In 2005, the study of the surface was carried out using the Huygens probe from the atmosphere, since the device was not adapted for landing.

Low gravity (1/7 Earth) and a dense atmosphere (4 times denser than on our planet) make it possible to track the surface of Titan through an aircraft. Only extreme weather conditions, which the probe may well encounter, can interfere with the mission.
