Samsung has officially unveiled the Exynos W920 5nm single-chip system, which will be used in the new generation Watch series smart watches. The gadgets will be presented on August 11 as part of the Unpacked presentation.

The specs of the chipset say it will be significantly faster than its predecessor Exynos 9110. So, the CPU performance will increase by 20%, and the graphics chipset will function ten times faster. This speed will be provided by the Arm Cortex-A55 CPU cores and the Arm Mali-G68 GPU.

The new processor is capable of supporting qHD displays (960 x 540 pixels). The Cortex-M55 core is responsible for saving power consumption, which allows the Always-on Display option to be enabled. Among other technical characteristics, it is worth noting support for the satellite navigation system GNSS and Wear OS, the presence of LTE modules, Wi-Fi b / g / n and Bluetooth version 5.0. The platform uses Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging (FO-PLP) with a combination of crystal system, power control, LPDDR4 "RAM" and internal eMMC storage. This arrangement makes it possible to save the internal space of the gadget body, which can be used for high-capacity batteries.
